Luton Community Watch Rises From the Ashes
Luton's residents were abandoned in 2024 when National Neighbourhood Watch banned every member in Luton (5,000 members of the public) from using the NHW brand and from holding events. They wrote to Luton Borough Council and Bedfordshire Police stating that they should no longer engage with Luton Neighbourhood Watch (LNW), demanded that the LNW website be taken down, and published inaccurate and derogatory claims in the press.
This followed LNW publishing a decision by the Bedfordshire Police and Crime Panel (PCP) upholding a complaint against the former PCC, who had published false and malicious statements on Facebook about LNW and one of its members.
The PCP decision was published in defence of National NHW and LNW's reputation; which, this was not a breach of the Charity Commission Guidelines as was claimed at the time.
Luton Community Watch looks forward to supporting communities across Luton as members have done for the past 40 years.
You will see our new signs appearing in streets where new schemes are in operation or former schemes have opted to move to Luton Community Watch..
