About

I failed my eleven plus and was expelled from Secondary Modern School when I was 15 when I combined working on a street market and attending grammar school and college part time while working as a barman in a Bingo Hall and the coolest Pub in Bedford (The Pilgrim's Inn on the banks of the River Great Ouse).

After attending The University of Bradford and being elected Union President in 83/84 I worked as a Social Worker, Charity Fund Raiser and Regional Organiser for War on Want. I became a Barrister in 1994. I have also worked in the Monkey Jungle at woburn Safari Park and as a Project Worker in a community drug's project where I developed my passion for behavioural approaches and hypnosis and my special interest in working with addictions.

I am a published writer. The BBC produced (but did not broadcast) my play Extra Time for local radio. It is a Tribute to my Dad and a David v Goliath story of a titanic struggle between Bedford Town and Arsenal in the FA Cup in 1956.

I also wrote for the Community Film , "Nine Lives London" and had my own column in the internet Magazine The Multicultural Progressive whose editor Chulkka Ummuna is now a member of the Shadow Cabinet. In 2010 I won second prize in the Ravensden Village Fete writing Competition.

My ambition is to stay as happy as I am at the moment by making enough money to take writing seriously and look after my Whippet who is called Lewis after my favourite book Alice in Wonderland.

Specialities: Working with addictions. Writing humorously about politics. Reading and running after my dog.
